๐ Get recipes into EcoTrace faster
๐ Desktop bookmarklet โ one click from any recipe site
A bookmarklet is a special bookmark that runs a mini tool instead of opening a page. Drag โ don't click โ the button below onto your browser's bookmarks bar. Then, next time you're viewing a recipe on any site, click it from your bookmarks bar to send that page straight to EcoTrace.
๐ฟ Score with EcoTrace๐ค Android โ Share straight from any app
On Android, Chrome can install EcoTrace as an app and add it to the system Share sheet โ so sharing a recipe page (or copied ingredient text) from any app sends it straight here.
- Open the Chrome menu (โฎ) and tap Install app (or Add to Home screen).
- While viewing any recipe, tap your browser's Share button.
- Pick EcoTrace from the share sheet โ it opens here with the recipe already loaded.
iOS/Safari doesn't support this yet โ Apple hasn't opened up share-sheet targets to web apps. Use the Shortcuts option below instead.
๐ iPhone/iPad โ Shortcuts or Safari bookmark
Option A โ Shortcuts app (adds a "Score with EcoTrace" entry to the Share sheet):
- Open Shortcuts โ the + button to create a new shortcut.
- Tap the settings icon, turn on Show in Share Sheet, and set it to accept URLs / Safari web pages.
- Add a Text action containing
https://useecotrace.com/input.html?url=, then a URL Encode action on the Shortcut Input, and combine the two into one URL action. - Finish with an Open URLs action on the result.
- Now "EcoTrace" shows up when you tap Share on any recipe page in Safari.
Option B โ simpler, no Shortcuts app: on this page, tap Share โ Add Bookmark. Then in Safari's Bookmarks list, edit that bookmark and replace its address with the ๐ฟ bookmarklet link from the desktop tab above. Tapping it while viewing any recipe sends that page to EcoTrace.
